Environmental Education in Action

Stream Clean Up

Practicing what we preach in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.  Today, Maristella Mission joined teams of volunteers at the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education. There were many projects including trail cleaning, invasive species removal, path clearing, debris removal as well as some indoor projects to clean and prepare for the center's educational events.

Our team joined forces with other volunteers to remove debris from a valley bridge rebuilding project. Many hands worked together to take this project from daunting to doable.  While it may seem strange that today's project was hundreds of miles from the closest beach, it reminds us of the importance of keeping our watersheds and surrounding areas clean and unpolluted. Remember, streams lead to rivers and rivers lead to oceans!

We at Maristella are in the process of identifying our service projects for the next several months. Our goal is to participate in or host a service project at least once a month.

Please check back often and consider joining us for one of the Maristella Mission service projects. Together we can make a difference! Thank you!
