Maristella - Q and A

First, WHY the name Maristella?  Maristella translated means “Star of the Sea”. We thank you all for being Stars of the Sea and walking this ocean-saving, eco-friendly journey with us. We welcome you to join our tide-turning Team of Stars.

WHY the Oceans? Our oceans are in trouble! Our oceans are the heart of our planet. They regulate the Earth’s climate while producing an amazing 70% of the oxygen on earth! Thanks phytoplankton – we owe you 7 out of every 10 breaths we take! You’re one of the tiniest organisms on earth, but one of the most powerful!

WHY organic? Our initial designs are printed on organic cotton. Not only is organic cotton soft and wonderful, there also no pesticides and other chemicals used in its production. We are also researching having some of our products made from recycled material.

WHY water-based ink for shirt designs?  Water-based inks are synonymous with eco-friendly screen printing. They are plastic and PVC free, result in a softer print design and will not crack and flake over time. You're going to love how they feel!  

Finally, WHY do we do what we do?   Because we care and want to make a difference. We are a team of environmentally concerned people looking to make a difference by raising awareness and making eco-friendly, responsible choices, while donating 20% of our profits to ocean conservation and exploration.
