The Maristella Difference
Our passion for our mission and our desire to do it right drive us forward. Below are a few ways we think we're "doing it right" and creating the Maristella Difference.
- Eco-friendly Apparel - Our base products are sourced with great care. Our apparel to date is made with 100% organic cotton. Going forward, we will continue to source our blank shirts and pre-printed apparel with a keen eye toward selecting items that use environmentally responsible materials and practices. Spoiler alert - you’ll have the opportunity to see our initial products very soon and looking ahead, we hope to bring you even more options as we investigate and research additional eco-friendly apparel selections.
- Eco-friendly Printing - Our printing is also done in an eco-friendly manner. To date our printing has been done by an eco-friendly printer using water-based inks. Water-based inks are better for the environment and result in a softer, more breathable design on your apparel. Most printing today is done using plastic-based, chemical laden inks which are much less healthy for the environment.
- Donating 20% of Profits - Because we believe so strongly in our mission, we will volunteer our time at environmental service and community events and will donate 20% of our profits to organizations that support ocean conservation and exploration. The organizations we choose to donate to will attack the ocean pollution problem from a local as well as from a global perspective.
- Teen Entrepreneur - Our organization is the vision of a teen entrepreneur and stems from a high school legacy project that went something like – “Do Something to Change the World” and tell us about it at the end of the year. Thanks Miss D!
